Hi there, I'm Kurt, a poet, teaching artist, and multimedia producer residing in Brooklyn, New York. Over the past 10 years I've helped organizations like Humans Rights Watch, Microsoft, The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, and many more to tell their stories through the collaborative production of films and shared experiences. Most recently, I founded an arts organization called THRIVE POET, which invites people and organizations to use poetry, freestyle, and mindfulness to answer the question, "What does it mean to THRIVE?" In partnership with Breaking Walls and The Jill Chaifetz Transfer School (Bronx, NY), I designed and am currently leading a 36-week empowerment program for at-risk youth to help them find their THRIVE. In tandem, I was recently enrolled in the 2017/18 class of Community Word's Teaching Artist Project, a rigorous 8-month curriculum rich in social justice-based pedagogy and, finally, as the Artist-In-Residence at the life and leadership consultancy Good Wolf Group, I am honored to use my poetry as a tool to instigate and inspire creativity and meaningful dialogue among activists, executives, and their teams.
I believe everyone is an artist and that "Life = The people you meet + The things we create together. What is your art?
